Tomorrow there will be some tests and then we are ready for some heavy
flying Saturday and Sunday. We hope. More about the plans after the
evening planning meeting tomorrow.
Today was marked by the aftermath of last night's banquet, or rather of
its German Jägermeister-finale. Some will remember my discrete report in
yesterday's newsletter. I extend it today with a couple of extra shots,
but I promise you these are still of the nice kind. After I turned my back
to the crowd, things turned ugly. I have seen pictures from paparazis more
energetic than me. There even exists a movie. I have seen parts of it.
Nasty stuff. I will say no more, except a message to those familiar with
the people here: The letters BBC might be a clue.
It must be admitted though that I - as the early bird checking out this
theatre of belzebubian acts - found only one empty beer can and some
stains of red wine as proof of what had passed throughout the night.
Our film people are getting desperate. Every third second they come up
with new thoughts about footage needed for their film before we leave.
Mock conversations and reconstructions of past events fill the days of our
patient scientists. The things we do for art.
The day also had this peculiar flair of meta-activities. The NRK visited
us and filmed The white beauty (although she was still ill at the time).
This of course had to be filmed by our own film crew. I was then ordered
to the air field to make a photo documentary of this filming. Whereupon
Astrid used her cell phone to document ... I guess you get it.
Being at the hangar we could welcome a crowd of guests from Alomar. As we
had been at their observatory to see their lidar, it was very
understandable that they wanted to see ours.
Muralidhar, the brave Indian, left us today after almost three weeks. He
has suffered bravely in the cold, but he has also learnt about a handful
or so of new vegetarian dishes. Look forward to see you again, Sir.
Tomorrow is the grand outreach day. We plan to give three local
presentations on the project. Øyvind had a test on a popular talk in Oslo
the other day, so this will work out fine. We also look forward to a boat
trip to the great seas where whales sing their mysterious tunes. If you
stay nice, you might get a report on that tomorrow.
Good night, my friends.

(Should perhaps say that the NRK thing is expected to be on Dagsrevyen
some time in Easter. I will notify you when I know more. An article is
expected in Dagsavisen on Saturday or Sunday.)
